To create a new Template/ Document Template:
- Login to your Docu Signer account.
- Click on Templates (on your left menu bar).
- Click on Add New button (on top right). A new page opens up.
- Fill in the mandatory details.
- Upload your document template file. (Allowed file formats are .docx, .pdf, .html)
- The template file uploaded can contain Custom Keys (Click here for more details on Custom Keys).
- Click on Continue button.
- A new page opens up.
- Select the Signee (from left panel of the screen) for whom data fields need to be defined now.
- You have the flexibility to change the title of the Signee by clicking on signee title and editing it.
- This comes handy when you want the document to be signed by multiple Signees and you want to uniquely identify the roles of the Signees. (e.g. if the document needs to be signed by vendor first followed by client, the first Signee title could be Vendor and second Signee title could be client).
- Drag and drop the Data Fields (from Fields section of the left panel) to the document.(Clickk here for more details on Data Fields)
- Select another signee (if you want multiple people to sign the same document) and add relevant fields as mentioned above.
- Repeat the process as required.
- To differentiate between data fields of different Signees, they will be highlighted in different colors.
- Click on Save button in left panel to save your changes.
- Once done, click on Close button to return to Templates screen.
